Right Effort on the Mat

One of the most common questions that I receive from yoga practitioners is whether or not they are doing a specific posture correctly. Typically, I follow their question with a question of my own:
“What is that you are experiencing?”
This is not an easy question to answer.
In the Yoga tradition, there are five markers for the success and effectiveness of the practice. These five markers are laid out in five aspects of the human system which the Ancient Yogis called, pañcamaya. With the right insight into how the Yogis understood the human system, we can learn to utilize right effort into creating a long term and sustainable Yoga practice
