Origins of an Ancient Practice: Is it Exercise or Asana?

So what is the difference between exercise and asana? This is a very interesting question and one in which I have spent a lot of time contemplating. It was first first presented to me at the Krishnamacarya Yoga Mandiram in India and to this day guides my practice.

Join me for a free online class on September 13th, 2016 as we investigate this question along with the origins of modern day posture practice in the West. From a recent study, thirty-four percent of Americans, or 80 million people, say they are likely to try yoga for the first time in the next 12 months. As yoga continues to gain momentum, how do we distinguish the line between asana and exercise? Is there a difference? This class will be a fun and interactive discussion uncovering the roots of an ancient practice that has been so well received throughout the world.
