THE YOGA SUTRAS OF PATANJALI
A VERSE-BY-VERSE EXPLORATION
Faith (or complete confidence) is the driving force behind transformation. It is the impetus for a level of determination necessary to overcome all obstacles and to maintain ones trajectory. The word for faith in Sanskrit is shraddha and is described in the first chapter of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali – a 4th century CE text on Yoga and Meditation.
This is just one of the many themes of the text – and although centuries old, is no less applicable today than it was back then. The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali are not to be read from a commentary. They are to be learned and studied with the guidance of a teacher. I have had the fortune of studying with my teacher within a tradition that prides itself on preserving the ancient text while making it accessible to the Western mind.
I want to share the same insight with you.
I invite you to join me for a continuous series of online classes covering the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali verse by verse. We will begin on Tuesday, December 6th from 6:15pm-7:15pm and proceed weekly. The first class each month will be totally FREE and a nominal fee of $35 for the remaining Tuesday’s in the month (about $8/class). All sessions will be recorded and the audio available to stream should you happen to miss a class. The format will be very conversational with plenty of space for dialogue, question and answer.
I hope that you can attend. To register for the FREE class on December, 6th, visit the link below.
